Day 169 – Ogunquit, Maine to Falmouth, Mass

Wednesday 10th October 2018

We woke early this morning after a good sleep. It was also a lovely day, so we took the opportunity to walk down to the beach and then around the Marginal Way again.

On the beach looking back towards North Maine where we had been staying the last few days

Our walk including the Marginal Way was 4.4km and we passed quite a few people out for an early morning walk. We stopped in Perkins Cove for breakfast at the Cove Cafe, which already had a waiting list when we arrived.

We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. We had a lobster omelet which was really nice, and pancakes. I can see why the restaurant is very popular with the locals, but if you ate that sort of food every day you would get very fat.

We walked back to the hotel by the road again and took a few photos of Halloween decorations which are really starting to make their presence felt.

We got back to the hotel and packed up, then got on our way at 11am again. Once again we didn’t stop, driving straight to Falmouth where we have an AirBnB for three nights. Once we had checked in, we went out for a drive to Woods Hole where we found a nice farmer’s market, where we bought food for a couple of dinners and some extra stuff for breakfast. Our BnB has a lot of food for continental, but the cereals are all of the “full of sugar” variety so we wanted something a little better.

We ate dinner in and watched a movie.
