Day 150 – England – Long Compton to London

Friday 21st September 2018

Moving day again today. Our checkout time was 11am, and we didn’t have a long drive to where we were staying in London, so we decided to take minor roads and drive through Oxford, which was nearby. It rained a bit in the morning, but by the time we left it was just windy.

We had an easy drive, apart from the drive through Oxford, which was a bit stressful. We did get to see a bit of the University, but didn’t really want to stop as we had nowhere safe to leave the car full of our stuff.

We arrived early afternoon and met our host, who was lovely. Our place was in Northolt in the west of London. After unpacking and resting up, we were due to meet Chris’ old friend Sandra for dinner.

The area was kind of interesting. It felt safe but perhaps wasn’t the most salubrious area we have ever been in.

Interesting to have to step over an old iron on our way to the underground

We had dinner at a local Turkish place that Sandra knew, which was ok. Then it was back home for a sleep, traveling always makes us tired.
