Catching Up – the last couple of week’s hashes

We have had a few good hashes recently but I haven’t had time to keep up.

Wednesday 20th May was at Riding for the Disabled near the Bukit Brown Cemetery and MacRitchie Reservoir.  The original run site was over the road at the reservoir, but apparently the beer truck wouldn’t have made it into the carpark so there were a lot of emails and texts changing the run site.  The hares did a really nice job of using the available territory, particularly in the cemetery.  I recall it being a good workout as well.  More details at the run report.

Friday 22nd May was at Lower Peirce Reservoir, set by DIY and another guy.  DIY is known for setting very long runs and this was no exception.  After a Sunday run recently set by him, I resolved this time to do the short run.  Nevertheless, it still took 1:20 and was a long hard run home along Upper Thomson Road.  The jungle running was nice although through very thick vines so it was a little slow in places.  On on was on site, with “English Curry” – not bad.

Wednesday 27th May was at Faber Park.  This was kind of an odd run, the run location was a public park with lots of kids playing soccer and locals chatting and strolling.  A bunch of noisy Harriets probably wasn’t what they had in mind and a few of us were worried we would get complaints and a visit from the police.  However, there wasn’t much we could do about it and off we went on the run.  The first part of the run was up the hill and around in circles and back down again.  That was boring and strange.  However, after that we were off into the old railway line and into the shiggy, so that was ok.  We ran all the way out the old railway line and then had a very long run back.  I think Phil and I got back in about 1:25 so we felt it was pretty long.  The circle was held in a small rotunda and we had to be a little quiet, but we had a fun circle nevertheless, and no police.  On on was at one of the hare’s place, which was very nice.

We missed Friday 29th May because we had a farewell party to go to.
